How to Play ScoreCup

ScoreCup is a free-to-play football prediction platform. You predict how real matches will finish, earn points for accuracy, and compete against other players on leaderboards. No stakes, no betting — just predictions, points and rankings.

Getting started

Anyone can browse ScoreCup competitions, fixtures and standings without an account. To submit predictions you need a free account, which lets us store your picks and rank you fairly against other players.

  1. Create a free account with email or a supported sign-in provider.
  2. Open Cups and pick a competition you want to follow.
  3. Activate the competition so your Predict and Ranks screens follow it.
  4. Submit your predictions before each match kicks off.
  5. Come back after the matches to see your points and leaderboard position.

Correct Score competitions

In Correct Score competitions you predict the exact final score of each fixture — for example 2-1. Fixtures are grouped into matchdays so you can submit a full round of predictions at once.

  • Exact score correct — the highest points award available.
  • Correct outcome (home win, draw or away win) but wrong score — partial points.
  • Wrong outcome — no points for that match.
  • Points from every match are added together into your competition total.

Each prediction locks at kickoff. Before kickoff you can edit a prediction as often as you like; once a match starts, your pick for that match is final. Matches that have not started are never counted against you.

1X2 competitions

1X2 competitions are faster: instead of a scoreline you choose the outcome of each fixture in the matchday.

  • 1 — home team wins
  • X — the match ends in a draw
  • 2 — away team wins
  • Every correct outcome scores points.
  • Incorrect outcomes score nothing — there is no negative scoring.
  • Completing every fixture in a matchday can add an accuracy bonus, shown on the matchday screen.
  • Picks lock individually at each match kickoff, so an early kickoff never locks the rest of your matchday.

Public competitions

Public competitions are open to every registered player and usually follow a real league or tournament calendar — for example a domestic league season or an international tournament. They are run by ScoreCup, and everyone competes on the same fixtures and the same scoring rules.

Private competitions

Private competitions let you play the same fixtures with a closed group — friends, colleagues or a supporters' club. The creator chooses the master competition and game mode, then shares a join code or invite link. Scoring is identical to public competitions; only the participants differ.

Rankings and leaderboards

Each competition has its own leaderboard, ordered by total points. Leaderboards also show how you earned those points so rankings are transparent.

  • Total points — your score across all settled matches.
  • Exact scores or correct outcomes — how your points were earned.
  • Bonus points — awarded by matchday rules where applicable.
  • Players with no submitted picks appear with zero points rather than being hidden.
  • Only matches that have finished affect the table.

Rewards and sponsor offers

Some competitions include rewards or sponsor offers. Availability, eligibility and how a reward is delivered depend entirely on the rules published for that specific competition, and on the sponsor providing it. ScoreCup does not promise winnings, and predictions never require a purchase.

ScoreCup Pro

ScoreCup is free to play. ScoreCup Pro is an optional paid subscription that adds convenience and depth — unlimited private competitions and advanced statistics such as detailed player profiles and player comparison. Pro never gives a scoring advantage: points and rankings work exactly the same for free and Pro players.

Frequently asked questions

Is ScoreCup gambling?
No. ScoreCup is a prediction competition platform. You do not stake money on outcomes and there are no odds or wagers — you earn points for accurate predictions and compete on leaderboards.
Do I have to pay to play?
No. Creating an account, joining public competitions and submitting predictions are free. Pro is an optional subscription for extra statistics and unlimited private competitions.
Can I change a prediction?
Yes, as many times as you like until the match kicks off. After kickoff that individual prediction is locked.
What happens if I miss a matchday?
You simply score no points for the matches you missed. Missed matches are not penalised and you can return for the next matchday.
How are ties broken on the leaderboard?
Players on the same total points are separated by prediction accuracy, and then by a deterministic tiebreaker so the ordering is always stable.
Which competitions can I play?
Open the Cups page to see every competition currently available, grouped by Correct Score and 1X2, plus any private competitions you have joined.
